The village of Ravenscar has a long and turbulent history, dating back to the fifth century when the Romans built a fort on this very site. It was however George III who gave Raven Hall the royal connection when he made it his special retreat. The village is set amongst beautiful countryside with a variety of landscapes and an abundance of wildlife.

Whilst on tour the following programme includes;

• A Visit to Pickering, This delightful market town is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway , the longest steam railway in England. The Beck Isle Museum is also a major visitor attraction with its unique collection of black and white photography and displays of rural life.

• A visit to Scarborough. Nestled into the rugged Yorkshire coastline, Scarborough is the perfect place to experience the thrill of the sea. Scarborough offers a diverse range of attractions and activities for all ages. Why not visit Scarborough Castle, a 12th Century Roman Ruin which dominates the resort headland. Learn about the dinosaur coast at the Rotunda Museum where geology comes to life.

• A visit to  Whitby. A town full of contrasts, Fish and chips and ice cream; history and culture; vampires and Goths: it’s all on offer at Whitby, one of the North East coast’s best-loved seaside towns. With Blue Flag beaches and many attractions, including the world-famous steam North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Whitby wallows in history.
